Double eliminations are always tough on Dancing With The Stars, especially early on in the competition. However, many viewers don’t think Family Matters star Reginald VelJohnson deserved to advance to week three — especially over Tori Spelling.
Week two featured a double elimination, which meant actress Tori Spelling and fraudster Anna Delvey left the competition. DWTS viewers seemed pretty united in their views over Anna Delvey’s elimination. However, many believed Tori Spelling deserved to continue on over Reginald VelJohnson.
Tori Spelling Had Great Potential On DWTS
Actress Tori Spelling has had an incredibly emotionally difficult year. She and Dean McDermott officially ended their marriage. On top of that, she had to say goodbye to her 90210 costar, Shannen Doherty. For years, she turned down the opportunity to compete on DWTS. But this year, Tori finally accepted the invitation.
During Oscars Night, she shared she wanted to focus on growth and rebirth as she explored her 50s. Tori and her partner Pasha Pashkov performed the Rumba to “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman, for which they earned a 19/30. It wasn’t a high-scoring routine, but fans connected with the actress and her personal challenges.
Meanwhile, actor Reginald VelJohnson and his partner Emma Slater scored a 15/30 for their Paso Doble to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.” Some fans found it entertaining but not particularly remarkable.
On top of that, VelJohnson’s choreography seemed to be lacking. During premiere night, the judges told the Die Hard star he needed to pick up more steps if he wanted to progress.
At the end of Oscars Night, the bottom three celebrities included Reginald VelJohnson, Tori Spelling, and Anna Delvey. VelJohnson and Emma Slater ultimately advanced while the other pairs were sent home.
Reginald VelJohnson’s Time On The Show Is Likely Drawing To A Close
Since there won’t be a new episode of DWTS next Tuesday, there will be a double elimination when week three resumes. Season 33 has plenty of incredibly fierce competitors and Reginald VelJohnson isn’t really among them.
The Family Matters star has plenty of fans, but even they can’t deny he’s one of the weakest performers in the competition. When the double elimination happens, VelJohnson and Emma Slater will likely say goodbye. It’s difficult to say who the other eliminated couple will be, but many DWTS viewers believe that actor Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart are facing the chopping block too.

Dancing With The Stars will take a break next week for the Vice Presidential debate. Week three begins on October 7 with another new episode on October 8.
