DWTS Pro Emma Slater Holding Virtual Dance Class for People Affected by Wildfires

“Dancing With the Stars” pro Emma Slater is holding a virtual dance class for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

“I’m out here on the East coast, I’m doing the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ tour. But my mind and my heart has been in Los Angeles with all of the fires and the devastation. It’s been awful to see the families that have been displaced. People’s lives have just gone up in flames and my heart goes out to everybody, specifically the kids,” Slater said in a post shared to Instagram on January 15.

“It’s an awful way to start the new year and so, in an attempt to lift the spirits of kids and children that have been affected by the fires, I would really like to do a free dance class,” she continued.

Slater plans on conducting the class herself. She said it’s her way of sending “love and light and energy.”

The class is open to whomever would like to participate. It’s being held on Saturday, January 18, at 9 a.m. Pacific time.

Fans have been thanking Slater for her idea and many feel that she’s doing a great thing by offering a free dance class, especially for kids.

“Great job Emma! This is so amazing. Such a big heart you have,” one person wrote.

“This is so sweet, Emma!!!!!! Great idea. Bravo!!!!!!!!” someone else said.

“Bless you Emma! This would make them so happy and would help even just for a bit get their minds off all the tough things they are going through,” a third Instagram user added.

“Emma, what a wonderful thing to do. You are such a sweet soul,” a fourth comment read.

Emma Slater Previously Released a Statement About the Wildfires

On January 8, Slater released a statement to let everyone know that she was thinking of those affected by the wildfires.
