DWTS Pro Rylee Arnold Reveals Health Diagnosis & How It’s Her ‘Biggest Strength’

In a video for Hulu, several reality TV stars were asked to answer the question, “What’s one thing people don’t know about me?” In the clip, which was posted on Instagram on June 5, there were three “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancers: Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, and Rylee Arnold.

So, what don’t fans know about them?

DWTS Pro Rylee Arnold Discusses Her Health Diagnosis

Rylee, who joined DTWS in Season 32 and was paired with Harry Jowsey for her debut, revealed her health diagnosis. “I have Type 1 diabetes,” she said in the clip. “It’s one of my biggest strengths in this life. I take pride in it.” Fans of Rylee will know this is not the first time she has discussed her diabetes diagnosis, which she learned of in 2021 at the age of 15.

On May 13, 2024, she posted several photos of herself on Instagram, including pictures of herself in a hospital bed and onstage. In the caption, she reflected on her health. “It’s been three years since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Although it was one of the hardest times in my life and one of the biggest learning curves for me, I’m incredibly grateful for the strength it has given me!” she wrote.

She went on to detail how she has not let the diagnosis impact her dreams. “Type 1 has taught me so much about myself and how I can also be a huge advocate to so many with Type 1 as well,” she wrote. “I hope I can be an inspiration to so many of you, and I just want you guys to know that nothing can ever stop you from achieving your dreams. You might have some bumps and challenges along the way, but they only make you so much stronger!!”

Derek was not able to answer the question about what people don’t know about him. He feels that, after being on television for twenty years, fans know pretty much everything there is to know about him. However, his sister, Julianne Hough, who joined DWTS in 2007, revealed a surprising skill that was a mix between beatboxing and a trumpet-like noise.

Fans reacted to the post in the comment section, showing their love for Rylee by writing her name followed by a red heart emoji. “My girl @ryleearnold1 repping all of us type 1 girlies,” a fan wrote.

There have also been several comments on Julianne’s musical skills. “@juleshough that Smurf beatboxing whatever you just did was the best! Thank you!” a fan wrote. “Julianne is like my spirit animal,” another person shared. “@juleshough I did that as a kid too haven’t heard it forever true talent form,” another comment reads.
