Eagles announce two roster moves and avoid injury scare at training camp

First things first. Saquon Barkley returned to practice. There may not be a more welcome piece of news you'll hear on the Philadelphia Eagles front today. He left Philly's 15th practice early. It appears a leg and lower back injury were the cause, but he never left the field to go inside. He also signed autographs after practice.

Those felt like positive signs, and as it turns out, confidence was rewarded. A precautionary measure maybe? A pitch count? Who knows... But, before we go any further, we'd like to say it again.

Saquon is okay! He began practice by doing some stretches with a team trainer and didn't participate in the first 11-on-11 drill, but a near crisis has been averted.

Let's get into some housekeeping now.

The Eagles announce two roster moves as nine players sit out of the 16th training camp practice.

The Eagles' 16th practice of training camp will be their last held in front of media members. They will participate in walkthroughs on Thursday and Friday before hosting the Minnesota Vikings at home in the friendly confines of Lincoln Financial Field for their preseason finale. Kickoff for that one is on Saturday at 1 pm EST.

Nine players wouldn't get any work in. Dallas Goedert (oblique), Matt Hennessy (back), Jalyx Hunt (oblique), Trevor Keegan (hip), Albert Okwuegbunam (abdomen), John Ross (concussion), Tyler Steen (ankle), Caden Sterns (knee), and Johnny Wilson (concussion) all sat out of Wednesday's practice session.

Philly also announced a couple of roster moves.

Offensive lineman Jason Poe has returned. He was previously released on August 5th. C.J. Uzomah was released to make room. Uzomah's release could strengthen E.J. Jenkins' chances of earning a roster spot. He returned to work after missing two days of work with a knee issue. His is a story that we all have been following,
