Eagles avoid scare after Darius Slay leaves another Eagles game with an injury
Uh oh... Darius Slay nursed a knee injury all week, eventually returned to the Philadelphia Eagles practice field, and worked his way into being deemed 'questionable' for Birds vs. New York Giants.
One half into Philly's sixth game of the regular season, one versus the hated New York Giants, he had tallied four tackles. All were solo. He also had a pass deflection.
Those four tackles tied for Philly's second highest total at halftime. Unfortunately, it appears the Birds must finish this game without him.
For the second time in as many weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles watch Darius Slay leave the playing field with injury.
The Eagles lead the G-Men at halftime. As is often the case, the game has been very costly. Mekhi Becton left the game with a concussion. Towards the end of the second quarter, trainers walked onto the field to inquire about Slay.
He wound up limping off under his own power. It's worth noting that he was deemed questionable on Friday afternoon because of a knee injury. Hopefully, he hasn't aggravated anything on one of the NFL's most unforgiving playing surfaces.
Here's what that means for the roster. Isaiah Rodgers is in. Until further notice, we may want to assume he'll finish Week 7's game in place of Slay.
