Eagles Predicted to Make Surprising Quarterback Move in NFL Mock Draft

One of the biggest contributors to the Philadelphia Eagles' success in 2024 was quarterback Jalen Hurts, who completed 248-of-361 passes for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions while also rushing for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Luckily, they have him locked up until the end of the 2028 season as a part of his five-year, $255 million extension, which is currently the seventh-largest contract in NFL history.

However, despite the clear stability at the position, in a mock draft done by CBS Sports, Mike Renner still predicts Philadelphia will take Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe with the No. 64 pick.

Of course, in this scenario, Milroe wouldn't have much of an opportunity to start, but could instead see himself competing for the backup role against Tanner McKee and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

McKee put up solid numbers in his two appearances for the Eagles last season, completing 30-of-45 passes for 323 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions, but considering the small sample size is unproven.

Thompson-Robinson on the other hand has appeared in 15 career games with some abysmal numbers, completing 121-of-230 passes for 880 yards, one touchdown and 10 interceptions.

Milroe, who in 2024 for Alabama completed 205-of-319 passes for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions could immediately come in and make some noise in training camp.

Considering he also ran for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns last season, while also standing at 6'2", 217 pounds, he could prove to be an ideal candidate to run the Eagles' infamous "Tush Push" play.
