Eagles QB Jalen Hurts spent the bye week the best way possible and it should pay off

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni's relationship was in question heading into the 2024 NFL season following their 2023 collapse.

NFL insider Dianna Rusinni had even confirmed that there were locker room issues that the team was still trying to work through well into the offseason.

However, it appears that Hurts and Sirianni have come a long way since then.

The two spent the bye week working together following their blowout Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“We’re the two leaders of the team,” Hurts told reporters. “I’m happy and fortunate that we were able to come together in harmony and have the same goal in mind, trying to get this thing right. I got a ton of confidence in him, a ton of confidence in what he brings and everything he’s been able to accomplish. Just continue to press on, on that. Everybody goes through different moments, everybody experiences adversity but we’ve experienced different levels of adversity together. We’re excited for what’s to come.”

The Eagles are 2-2 on the season so far, though many thought their record would look better at this point.

The good news is that there is still plenty of ball left to play and they're getting several key players back in their lineup.

Additionally, there is no bad blood between Hurts and Sirianni which means nothing is going on behind the scenes that is distracting them from rebounding.

“I think this was probably, I’d say, one of the most efficient bye weeks I’ve been a part of in my career,” Hurts said. “Just being able to, like I said, share those moments and talk through some things and build.”

The Eagles will look to get back on track this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
