Philadelphia Eagles' fifth-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, Ainias Smith, officially signed his rookie contract on Monday.
Smith inked a four-year deal worth $4.3 million, per Spotrac.
The Texas A&M product brings plenty of versatility to Philly with his ability to play running back and return punts and kicks.
During his final season with the Aggies, Smith hauled in 53 catches for 795 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 21 yards on five carries, and averaged 14.3 yards per punt return on 20 attempts.
The Eagles have been taking things slow with Smith as he battles back from a stress fracture in his left shin that he suffered at the NFL Combine.
Smith didn't participate in any drills during the Eagles' rookie minicamp last week but noted that he's trending upward.
“They’ve been trying to use me slowly, not trying to rush me back or anything like that," Smith said. "Right now, honestly, I feel pretty smooth. The recovery has been going very well, so I’m excited and ready to get out there.”
Smith should be ready to go by training camp in July and will take many mental notes until then.
The Eagles have several receivers on their roster but Smith could end up being a key contributor on special teams.
