Eric Roberts is saying goodbye to “Dancing With the Stars.”
Page Six exclusively caught up with the actor and his pro partner, Britt Stewart, in the ballroom Tuesday night, where they reacted to their bittersweet elimination from the dance competition series.
“The bad news is, I got cut,” shared Roberts, who performed a paso doble to Warrant’s 1990 track “Cherry Pie” during Tuesday’s Hair Metal Night. “But the good news is, I don’t have to learn another dance.”
Stewart echoed those sentiments, joking that Roberts would be feeling “a lot less stress, starting tomorrow!”
The legendary actor, 68, admitted that he never intended to win the Season 33 Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. However, he agreed to compete due to his wife, Eliza Roberts, being a longtime fan of the dance competition series.
“I’m on this show because my wife loves this show,” Eric said of his casting director spouse, whom he’s been married to since 1992. “I was never out to beat anybody. I was just dancing and my wife loves the show, so I did it for my wife.”
Eliza, 71, had her own shining moment when she joined Eric and Stewart, 35, on the dance floor during Monday’s Soul Train Night.
At the end of the dance duo’s foxtrot — set to Al Green’s 1972 hit “Let’s Stay Together” — Eric swiftly walked toward the audience and pulled his wife in for a kiss.
“That was my idea,” Stewart told Page Six of the sweet moment. “I just really wanted to honor their marriage. Eliza, she’s here supporting Eric every single week. She’s in our rehearsals every single day.”
“She really is a third member of Team Brightside,” the professional dancer added, referring to her and her partner’s competition name. “So we just wanted to dedicate a dance to her and really celebrate her and their marriage.”
Eric then revealed to Page Six that he and Eliza have plans to go on a double date with Stewart and her fiancé, Daniel Durant. The dancer met the actor when they were paired together for Season 31.
The revelation came after Eric revealed during Monday’s Soul Train Night that he recently gave some cheeky marriage advice to Stewart. The “Runaway Train” star didn’t divulge the “full” details at the time, however, as they were live on a family-friendly ABC/Disney+ show.
While speaking to Page Six in the ballroom Tuesday night, Eric wasn’t as shy about sharing the NSFW conversation.
“What I told Britt was, the combination to a happy marriage – and a long, happy marriage – is, of course, honesty … it’s hard … and …”
“And sex,” Stewart chimed in.
“If you’re having loads, you’re good to go,” Eric added.
Eric — who is the brother of actress Julia Roberts and father to “American Horror Story” star Emma Roberts — tied the knot to Eliza in 1992.
The dance pro and Eric were sadly sent home Tuesday night — along with Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater — after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard.
