Erika Jayne is opening up about the impact of losing her beloved dog and "best friend", Tiago, one year after he passed away. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member took to her Instagram account over the weekend, where she posted a photo of Tiago laying on the floor in her bedroom.
The singer took to the caption of the post, where she became vulnerable with her Instagram followers and reflected on all of the special times she spent with her dog, who died at the age of 12. "Today marks one year without my beautiful boy, Tiago," she wrote in the caption of the post. "He was a special soul that I had the privilege of having by my side for over a decade. He was such a bright light and everyone that came into contact with him knew there was something different about this dog. I have many pictures of him but I chose this one because I can see the wisdom in his eyes."
Erika Jayne says her late dog Tiago was her "best friend"
Erika continued in the caption of the post, noting that the Dutch shepherd had been with her in her lowest points. "He kept [me] alive during the darkest days of my life and I will always, always be grateful to this dog," she continued. "He was simply the best friend I've ever had. I miss him everyday."
Erika finished the super sweet tribute by penning a message to the pup herself. "Tiago, you were one of a kind and will always have my heart," she concluded.
Several Bravolebrities took to the comments to share their sympathy with Erika. Her fellow RHOBH cast member Garcelle Beauvais commented with a praying hands emoji while The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Heather Gay commented with a red heart emoji.
"So sorry for your loss. I know that pain only [too] well. I miss my guy every day," The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Dolores Catania commented, alongside a red heart emoji.
Does Erika Jayne want another dog?
In an interview with The Daily Dish in March 2024, Erika revealed that she is open to getting a new pet in the future, but it has to be at the right time. "I think that I certainly miss Tiago," she said.
"I still promise you, I hear him in this home from time to time, but the timing has to be right and the dog has to be right. It has to be the perfect match," she concluded. "No one could ever fill Tiago's shoes and that's not the point, but I think the right dog will come at the right time."
