Erika Jayne’s Husband Reportedly Close To Death — Divorce Put on Hold!

RHOBH star Erika Jayne’s husband, Tom Girardi, is allegedly close to death, which may be the reason the couple has never divorced. At the end of Season 14, Erika claimed that Tom barely had eighty days to live. Yet, he seems to still be kicking, but for how much longer? Keep reading for further details.

Erika Jayne’s Husband Close To Death

In Season 11 of RHOBH, Erika Jayne filed for divorce from her husband, Tom Girardi, after over twenty years of marriage. The performer realized that there was nothing left between herself and the famed attorney. Therefore, she packed her stuff and left. Unfortunately, not long after, he came under fire for allegedly stealing from his clients. There were plane and burn victims who never saw their money because he had blown it all. This all began to come crumbling down and Erika was involved. At the same time, it appeared that Tom had memory loss and had long been struggling with this.

He was eventually deemed competent to go to trial and is now facing eighty years behind bars. The eighty-five-year-old would not last that long, which Erika noted. Now, the prosecutors are asking for fourteen years, which is still a lot for Tom. Sadly, it does not appear he has much longer, per Erika’s lawyer, Jim Wilkes:

“Tom made a lot of mistakes, I get that,  but I think he’s suffering from dementia. I don’t think he’ll live long.”

Erika is currently being sued for $24 million by Tom Girardi’s bankruptcy trustee. The reason being that he believes the RHOBH star knew about Tom’s wrongdoings, thus profited from it. Erika has long maintained her innocence in all aspects. Unfortunately, along with Tom’s life coming to an end, their divorce will likely never happen.

She filed over four years ago but at one point had claimed her divorce would cost far too much. Now, Jim Wilkes is blaming Tom’s health for the hold up:

“ I don’t know that the divorce will go anywhere. He’s not competent to defend it. I don’t know that you could have a divorce in these circumstances.”

He added that the only way this marriage may ever end is if and when Tom passes.

Defending Erika

Jim Wilkes has come to Erika Jayne’s defense. He acknowledged that what Tom Girardi is going through is completely unfair. The scorned attorney is being bounced all over the country for evaluations, but the RHOBH performer is still being shamed. Jim feels that it is far too easy to blame Erika for Tom’s wrongdoings, stating she has nothing:

“Erika was left with nothing in her name. Tom has nothing, what he had they found and they liquidated.”

When Erika left Tom, she moved into a small casita and got a Range Rover. Since then, she has had a career boost and bought a far more pricey vehicle. Additionally, she has hired a decorator to renovate her rental home. She has paved her own way but is still trapped in her marriage to Tom.
