“Even We Were Shocked”: Vanessa Lachey Says Love Is Blind Season 9 Might Be the Most Explosive Yet

All eyes are on Love is Blind season nine.

And, according to host Vanessa Lachey, with good reason: she promised the next installment of the Netflix series, set in Denver and due to premiere this fall, will be among the most shocking yet.

“I can probably say this,” she teased to E! News at Netflix’s Tudum event May 31. “Something happens in Denver that has never happened on any of the Love is Blinds.”

And while the 44-year-old relatively tight-lipped on exactly what goes down, she did share just a little about what fans can expect from the group of participants in Colorado (which you can tune into on E! News tonight, June 2, at 11 p.m.).

“The beauty of Love is Blind being in different cities each season is that you get the character of that season, that city, and what comes along with it,” Vanessa teased. “Some cities, faith is more important. Some cities, work is more important. Some cities, drinking is more important—it varies. So you can imagine what Denver's gonna be—I'm gonna let you guys write that script.”

The NCIS: Hawai’i star also spoke to the evolution casting has taken over the years since the show premiered—as well as her favorite types of participants on the show.

“They're just people looking for love, she began. “It definitely—in the evolution of the show, and it being nine seasons—people know what to expect. And every now and then you get someone that slips through the cracks and who isn't in it for the right reasons.”

She added, “My favorite type of person is the most skeptical person day one. They're always the one in tears, they're always the one that finds love the first weekend. And they're always the one that is the wedding that lasts, you know?”

And Vanessa knows what she’s talking about, having been married to husband (and Love is Blind co-host) Nick Lachey for more than 15 years.

"It's about understanding and being open minded with your spouse, and he has taught me a lot," Vanessa told E! News in February. "And I would like to think that I've taught him a few things. But together we can collaborate and continue on this journey of working at our relationship."
