Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner’s Father Passed Away

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner has already had a rough start to 2025. In December, he shared with fans that in February 2024, he was diagnosed with a form of incurable bone marrow cancer. Now, it’s been revealed that he is mourning the death of his father, Everett Wayne Turner.

The U.S. Sun was able to find information confirming that Gerry’s father died on January 28, 2025, at the age of 93. He passed away at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was also shared in the obituary that he is survived by his three sons and one daughter.

Everett was a family man and loved them all dearly. His obituary noted that his love for his family was rivaled closely by his love for his motorcycle. He also loved football.

Gerry’s father was a baker and graduated from the American Institute of Baking in Chicago in 1967.

He retired in 1996 and moved to be closer to his family after his wife passed away. He did marry a second time and gained five stepchildren.

It was reported that the family had a Celebration of Life for Everett on February 15, 2025, at a veterans organization in New Haven, Indiana.

Gerry Filed A Motion In Court Regarding Estate

It was also revealed that Gerry filed in Indiana courts to be the personal representative of his dad’s estate. He filed his motion on March 18. A part of the will was disclosed in the exclusive article and read, “My four Emmett Kelly Figurines, all of my grandfathe’rs tools on the left side of the back wall in the residence garage, all guns to include the Marlin lever action with gold trigger, short barrel 410 and 20 gauge bolt action, and Swarovski silver crystal collections to Gerry W. Turner.”

His request was reportedly granted by a judge.

So far, Gerry has not addressed his father’s death on social media.

Gerry’s Dad Had Doubts About Theresa Nist

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner chose Theresa Nist at the final rose ceremony and they were married a few months later. While the season was airing on ABC, Everett Turner expressed his doubts about Theresa.

At the time, Gerry’s father said Theresa rubbed him the wrong way. He was team Leslie Fhima. However, since his son decided to marry her, Everett stepped up and said he supported him 100%.

He said, “If she don’t make him happy, I’ll probably kick her in the butt! I like Theresa. There is not a problem with me not liking her. All I want is for him to be happy. Whatever he decides to do, I’ll back him 100%.”

Everett did not find out it was Theresa who won until the finale. He said Gerry kept it a secret from everyone.

Sadly, their marriage only lasted three months.
