The MJ Mondays are back. And this tradition has also intrigued the 6x NBA Champion’s ex-wife. After Michael Jordan’s expensive divorce from Juanita Vanoy, it was rare for the family. They have stayed under the radar for many years. So, it’s a bit of a surprise getting a glimpse into their lives, whether past or present. The eldest in the family, Jeffery Jordan, is well aware of this and blesses us with a few of these nostalgic moments, though not often.
Jeffery just dropped an old family photo on his Instagram handle under the tradition of MJ Monday. It is from an event where Jordan is holding a baby which is likely his daughter Jasmine. While Juanita was sitting right next to MJ, both Jeffery and Marcus were seen sitting next to them. It’s really an adorable one! However, what caught Juanita’s attention in the picture was her fashion.
The heartwarming moment had the mother of three reposting the photo on her IG handle. “@heirjordan13 loves posting his vintage and current ‘MJ Monday’ photos, stories & reels, since I’m in this photo I decided to re-post it. Photo, clothing & hairstyle circa 1993 XOJ 😘 Love you, son 😍” Juanita wrote on her IG handle.
The instance seemed to be from 1993 when Michael Jordan received his championship ring from Commissioner David Stern before the game against the Miami Heaton at Chicago Stadium.
That would mean Jasmine was a month away from being a year old. Though Vanoy remembered the year, she seemed to have forgotten what was in the box as her comment under the post suggested. Good thing Jeffery has kept up with the tradition of bringing back the moments every of often for the family.
It has been nearly two decades since Vanoy and Jordan divorced, announcing they “mutually and amicably decided to end their 17-year marriage.” Each has went their way since then, but the memories sure keep them bound.
Jeffery Jordan brings a trove of nostalgic pictures every Monday
Even if it’s not often, Michael Jordan‘s eldest has made it a tradition to share vintage pictures of Jordan or the family enjoying time together. His Instagram is full of photos featuring Jordan, all under the caption “#MJ Mondays.”
One such image showcases Jordan at his lavish Highland Park mansion. Another depicts him at his retirement event, while another “MJ Monday” picture features Jordan during a workout session. Occasionally, Jeffery shares more than one picture with his fans.
He also shared the infamous snippet of Jordan and the late Dikembe Mutombo, which captured a playful argument between the two NBA legends. In the video, Mutombo teased Jordan about never having dunked on him, to which MJ argued that he already had. This clip even went viral on social media.
If Jeffery continues this tradition, we can look forward to more never-before-seen pictures of the Chicago Bulls legend.
