A former contestant and co-host from “Dancing with the Stars” shared difficult news during the latest episode of her podcast. Erin Andrews, who competed on season 10 of DWTS and later co-hosted seasons 18 through 28, revealed she and her husband just learned their surrogate had a miscarriage.

Andrews opened up about the heartbreak during the May 22 episode of her podcast, “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa.”
She admitted she didn’t want to tape the podcast as scheduled, because they had received terrible news that day. However, Andrews explained, she decided it was important to forge forward as planned.
“I’ve realized throughout my life, with everything that I’ve gone through…sometimes this is a great, safe space.” She mentioned doing the podcast through complicated times in her life, including legal issues, cervical cancer, and her struggles with infertility.
Andrews revealed, “We got some really [expletive] news today that our surrogate had miscarried. So.”
“I have dealt with this before,” Andrews shared. She continued, “But, things were going really, really well. And her little heartbeat, and her numbers were good. So much so, I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news.”
The “Dancing with the Stars” alum also noted she will have to deal with this loss in a different way than she did a previous time when the family experienced a surrogate’s miscarriage. “The last time we had such a loss, I didn’t [handle it] and I suffered with it.”
She mentioned how she was thinking of a Taylor Swift song, “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” as she wiped away tears. Andrews admitted, “I’m really good at doing this with a broken heart.”

Andrews also explained she chose to go ahead with the podcast taping because she made a promise to herself while dealing with infertility and two surrogates, along with a previous surrogate miscarriage, “that I was just going to be honest. It’s really, really hard.”
“I know my husband’s having a difficult time, and I’m going to go home and be with him, and we’re going to throw our little two-year-old in a pool. I feel like squeezes are going to feel a little different from him today,” Andrews shared.
Fans flooded the comment section of the Instagram clip from the podcast with love and support.
“Erin even though so many of us don’t know you personally we just absolutely love you. You’ve got a whole team behind you,” a fan wrote.
“Awe Erin, we’re all sending you and your family all the love. This community will be here for you to lean on,” added another.
