“Teen Mom” star Farrah Abraham reflected on whether she feels regret about getting pregnant at 16 years old in an interview with People published on March 22.
“I keep getting that shame, blame, reject stuff, and I don’t need to. I love my child. There’s nothing to regret and … I love being a young parent still. I love being kind of like an empty nester right now,” she said.
Abraham revealed that her daughter Sophia, who is now 16, has a laid-back personality and doesn’t jump into relationships.
“She dates long-distance. We fly, they fly in, they’re all homeschooled, and it’s just so peaceful,” the 33-year-old added.
Abraham said of her daughter, “We all have very healthy boundaries, but we are very close, like close communication. I mean, it’s just great. I can’t even describe anything better. I’m so blessed
Abraham Overcame Many Obstacles as a Teen Mom

Life wasn’t always easy for Abraham, especially in the early stages of having Sophia. She recalled to Teen Vogue in 2012 that moving out of her house at 17 years old was especially difficult because she had to work while raising her young daughter and attending school at the same time.
“I submitted an audition tape to MTV because I saw it as an opportunity for me to make money and share my story. I hope that the teens [who] watch our last season can tell that we are really struggling, but we want to become better people and great parents for our children,” Abraham said.
She told Teen Vogue at the time, “Lack of sleep, financial stress— being a mother is really hard to deal with, but I’m very thankful for my family and everything I’ve been given. The biggest lesson I learned is about the importance of family.”
Abraham revealed that since moving out, she had finished college and was working on many business opportunities, including a book and her own hot sauce brand.
“I want people to see that my daughter and I will be fine and that I’ll be able to succeed in life regardless of being a teen parent,” the MTV star added.
Abraham Is Raising Her Daughter Sophia to Feel Loved
Abraham told Interview in November 2024 that she wants Sophia to experience a much different upbringing than the one she had.
“[If] I’m rewriting the script on parenting, I’m going to give my daughter an amazing foundation. Because as we saw on television, I went through a lot of dysfunction and I didn’t want to recreate that,” she said.
When asked what her parenting style is, Abraham answered, “That she is seen, supported, and heard. I learned so much from my daughter.”
She continued, “I’m not really a part of a toxic femininity that is egotistical, prideful, thinking they’re above their children. I pride myself on gratitude, appreciation, and just looking at my child with equality and inclusion because that’s what my child needs.”
