The marriage between the Denver Broncos and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy never went very well, so you would expect that when he comes back to his old place of business, he may not have the most flattering things to say.
The Broncos drafted Jeudy in the first round (No. 15 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He never lived up to that draft status and was more of a headache than anything in Denver. During his final season with the team, he had several spats on social media with the likes of Mark Schlereth and Phillip Lindsay while also being involved in a highly-publicized verbal feud with former NFL receiver, and current NFL Network analyst Steve Smith.
After he was traded to the Cleveland Browns this spring for a fifth and sixth-round pick, Schlereth gave his thoughts on X/Twitter. He likely spoke for most of Broncos Country.
It goes without saying that Jeudy has no love loss for Denver and when asked about his return to face the Broncos this Monday night, he didn't mince words.
Jeudy will be matched up against Patrick Surtain in that game so will have his work cut out for him. Jeudy has stated that he wanted the Broncos to trade him this offseason and on Friday, he backed that up when talking to the media.
How has Jerry Jeudy done this season in Cleveland?
Jeudy has made some plays for the Browns this season and Jameis Winston, who took over the starting QB job when Deshaun Watson went done for the year, has looked his way when he has needed a play.
On the season, Jeudy has 45 receptions for 645 yards and two touchdowns. But those numbers are not eye-popping and they are on pace with what he typically put up in Denver, where he never had a 1,000-yard season and had 11 total touchdowns.
Jeudy isn't a terrible NFL wide receiver, but he's nowhere near as good as he or his fans think he is. His mouth says he's Jerry Rice but that doesn't make up for his Tier 3 ability.
Broncos fans will be heckling Jeudy any chance they can on Monday night.
