Kailyn Lowry Explained Why She Left ‘Teen Mom’ in October 2024

During an October 2024 interview on the “Just Trish” podcast, Lowry explained why she chose to step away from the “Teen Mom” franchise after starring in it for 11 years. She said she did not want to subject her fiance, Elijah Scott, to filming the series. She noted that she became pregnant with their first child, Rio, 2, shortly after they began dating. Lowry also quipped that Scott is not emotive enough to be on reality television.

“There was, like, a lot of reasons. I think, like one, Elijah had not been on TV. We did not plan to get pregnant. It was the first time I slept with him. So also that. And we had just developed a relationship. So, I was like, ‘This is just a lot for one person,’” said Lowry.

Lowry spoke highly of Scott, who is also the father of her two youngest children, Valley, 1, and Verse, 1, in an August 2024 interview with Us Weekly. She said he has a sense of calmness that she has never experienced in a romantic partner.

“He’s an angel on this earth. And I don’t know what I did to deserve him,” said Lowry during the Us Weekly interview.

In addition, she praised Scott for being a wonderful stepfather to her eldest children, Isaac, 15, Lincoln, 11, Lux, 7, and Creed, 4. According to Lowry, all her children “love” Scott.
