Former Wild Goaltending Prospect Sent To ECHL

   

The former Wild goaltender Hunter Jones signed with the Montreal Canadiens' AHL team and has now been sent to the ECHL with the Trois-Rivières Lions.

Jones, 24, spent four years in the Minnesota Wild Organization, playing 30 games for the AHL’s Iowa Wild and 78 for the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL. 

In his 30 games with the Iowa Wild, Jones went 11-16-3 with a 3.56 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .887 save percentage (SV%). He had two shutouts as well. 

The Wild's 59th overall from the 2019 NHL draft went 21-37-15 in 78 ECHL games with a 3.47 GAA, a .894 SV% and one shutout. 

In 121 career OHL games, Jones went 62-47-7 with a 3.31 GAA, a .901 SV% and seven shutouts for the Peterborough Petes.

He signed with the Laval Rockets of the AHL on a one-year, one-way AHL contract on July 1st.
