The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced Tuesday that they have signed former Wild prospect Damien Giroux to an AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.
Giroux, 24, was drafted 155th overall in the 2018 draft, which was the last pick of the fifth round. He spent three seasons in the AHL with the Iowa Wild where he notched 13 goals and 48 points in 149 games.
The former Saginaw Spirit captain played in one NHL game with the Wild during the 2022-23 season in Nashville. Giroux recorded an assist in his NHL debut and hasn't played in the NHL since.
The 5-foot-10 forward played in 30 AHL games with the Rochester Americans last year and recorded four goals and 11 points. He had seven goals and 15 points in 17 ECHL games last year as well.
