Garrett from 'Love Is Blind' season 7 had a major glow-up, convincing fans he and Taylor got married

"Love Is Blind" is back — and this time, it's tackling the famously difficult Washington, DC dating scene.

Luckily, some participants were able to find love in the pods. Taylor, a 30-year-old clean energy policy consultant, and Garrett, a 33-year-old physicist, became one of this season's most compelling couples after hitting it off in episode one. Drawn by their similar backgrounds, they hit it off early in the pods — and despite some hiccups — manage to stay on track all the way to a proposal.

On TikTok, Taylor has joked about being in the television spotlight as "Love Is Blind" is Netflix's flagship dating franchise. According to the company's own engagement data, "Love Is Blind" regularly draws millions of views, meaning that the cast's dating mishaps are displayed to a staggering global audience.

In one video, she lip-synced to a lyric from Sabrina Carpenter's "Please Please Please" while staring herself down in a mirror: "I beg you, don't embarrass me, motherfucker."

Here's how Taylor and Garrett get together, and what we know about their relationship today.

Taylor and Garrett bonded over a shared science background in the pods

On their first date in episode one, Taylor and Garrett learn that they share a scientific background. As a bonus coincidence, they also both have science-related tattoos: Taylor has a hydrogen molecule on her wrist tied to her work as a clean energy policy consultant, and Garrett has Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, a nod to a quantum mechanics concept, on his arm.

On another date in episode one, Taylor tells Garrett that she doesn't want to tell him her mother's name because it hints at her ethnicity. Garrett replies that he hadn't thought at all about her ethnicity, but had previously only dated white women.

However, he also says that he has found her to be "calculated" in her communication with him — something he didn't necessarily think was negative.

"And that's good feedback to get," she replies. "Just, like, I guess it's hard to hear that it comes across, as, like, really calculated."

The pair moves forward, however, and continues to develop their relationship. In episode two, Taylor reads Garrett a romantic confession that includes a love letter her grandfather once wrote to her grandmother expressing his intent to marry her. In response, Garrett proposes — and Taylor says yes.

The pair meets in person later in the episode. They're also one of the six couples producers selected to go on a couple's trip to Mexico. Compared to other pairs, their vacation is relatively drama-free.

Previews hint at a rocky road ahead for Taylor and Garrett

"It's all fun and games until, like, it's real," Garrett says in a voice-over during the teaser for the rest of season seven.

The couple is shown meeting a woman (presumably Taylor's mother) in the preview, and she expresses some hesitation: They don't know enough about Garrett to judge his character. Garrett's parents also express some worries, and his mother says she doesn't want him to be hurt as a result of the experiment.

There's also a clip of the couple having a disagreement at a party with the other cast members. Garrett appears to tell Taylor that his ex-girlfriend texted him.

"You responded?" Taylor says. "This is the worst thing ever."

"Whatever. It doesn't fucking matter," Garrett says.

Later, there's a shot of Taylor crying, though the context isn't clear.

As of writing, Garrett still follows Taylor on Instagram. However, it doesn't appear that she follows him. Garrett liked Taylor's Instagram post about her cast portrait, but it doesn't appear that she liked his.

Taylor has posted about the show on TikTok, reacting to a clip of her shooting Garrett down the first time he asked her to be his girlfriend.

Garrett has also been active on Instagram, and his recent appearance — compared to how he looks on the show — has prompted some viewers to speculate that he and Taylor are still together.

"Garrett's transformation from show filming to present time makes me think he got married & she got him together," journalist Nina Parker wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

It's worth noting, however, that Garrett may have another reason for his new look: He modeled for Stan Clothing at New York Fashion Week in September.

The next episodes of "Love Is Blind" season seven will air on Wednesday, October 9 on Netflix.
