Garrett Trade Talk Reveals Deshaun's Browns Truth

No, the Cleveland Browns' problems - their 3-14 record and the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft that will result from it - aren't all the fault of Deshaun Watson.

But it does sometimes feel that way ... maybe even to his Browns teammates.

Garrett Trade Talk Reveals Deshaun's Browns Truth

Watson’s finances, his struggles, his reputaiton and and eventually his injuries paint a Cleveland picture of incompetency - but not just on his part.

The franchise did this to itself.

For star edge rusher Myles Garrett? That all is a big part of why enough is enough. The All-Pro defender has publicly requested a trade in search for a Super Bowl ring.

Subsequently, tight end David Njoku - who calls Garrett "my brother'' - is sharing a response and a plea to Myles ... while also, in a sense placing blame while offering a solution.

“Come on dawg,” Njoku said. "Stay home, bro. He knows who I'm talking to. Stay home. Come on, give it another shot. We ain't that far off, honestly speaking."

Njoku, who caught 64 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns in 2024, wants to be part of the solution; as he puts it, he's "Ride or Die'' with the Browns.

That is admirable. But unless Cleveland solves its QB problem? "Die'' seems more likely.

So ... what about that solution?

“I think we’re close - we just need a healthy good quarterback.” Njoku said.

Is that comment throwing Watson under the bus?

Not as much as it is simple fact.

And also factual, as established this year with Jayden Daniels in Washington and last year with C.J. Stroud in Houston, an elite talent taken in the No. 2 slot of a draft really can fuel a quick turnaround.

Garrett this year finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting, earned a first-team All-Pro selection, and logged 14 sacks with a league-high 22 tackles for loss.

He can be the centerpiece of a good team ... but not without a "healthy good quarterback.''

Maybe the Browns are on the verge of drafting just that?

"I don't think we're done yet," Njoku said. "I know he wants to win. He wants to be great, he wants to be a champion and so do I. ...We didn't come this far just to come this far. He knows exactly what I'm talking about."
