So far, Golden Bachelorette fans have been absolutely loving the men in the premiere season. There have been several scenes when they’ve been vulnerable, leading to tear-jerking moments among fans. Guy Gansert Is Fearful

In Episode 6, Guy and Joan officially made it to the hometown phase. He took her to Reno, Nevada and introduced her to his family, which included his four children. The two seemed to have a great time and even enjoyed a romantic boat ride together.

It was during this episode that Gansert opened up and revealed his biggest relationship fear.

Specifically, he is afraid that Joan will feel strongly for another contestant and break his heart.

Not only would it affect him romantically, but the breakup would be shown to millions of people, adding an element of public humiliation.

While taking her home was a big step, Joan did the same with three other contestants. So, his fear that their bond isn’t strong enough will remain true until she either dumps him or chooses him in the finale.

Guy’s Controversial Past

It’s customary that when someone appears on TV for the first time, online sleuths will dig up their past. And for Guy, his reality TV debut is no exception.

Before getting to know Joan, Gansert was previously married to a woman named Heidi O’Gara. It was exposed that back in 2021 she filed a restraining order against him, alleging that he threatened to physically harm her.

Guy spoke out about the situation and clarified that Heidi volunteered to drop the restraining order. The contestant went on say that his divorce from O’Gara was difficult for him, and he acted out of character during that time. He didn’t specify what he meant by that.

Vassos addressed the order as well on a podcast and shared her support for Guy amidst the scandal.

“I still believe that he’s a kind and good person. You know, maybe he made a mistake,” she defended.

Golden Bachelorette Fans Are Rooting For Him

Even though there are now only three contestants left, Guy’s competition is pretty stiff. After the hometown visit, there’s still not a clear prediction of who Joan is going to choose.

Nonetheless, viewers are rooting for Gansert to receive the final rose. Not only do they find him to be a gentleman, but they genuinely believe that he’s is Vassos’ best option.
