Golden Bachelorette runner-up Guy Gansert went to Instagram Stories to share that he has been sick for five days. He revealed what was wrong with him and had a message for fans who possibly want his advice.
Guy said, “COVID is rearing it’s ugly head again! Yes, I’m day 5 into this. I’m not here to tell anyone what to do or how to treat, etc.. Just beware and take precautions you feel is best for you. It seems to be more virulent this year. Stay healthy.”
Following this announcement on Monday, Guy has not shared another update on how he is feeling. The news of him being sick comes just a week after he attended a concert in Las Vegas.

Guy Gansert was the runner-up on Joan Vassos season of The Golden Bachelorette. He showed a lot of emotion when Joan sent him home before he was even able to meet her family. She knew in her heart that Chock Chapple was the one for her.
As for Guy, following his heartbreak with Joan, he was initially pushing hard to be named The Golden Bachelor. He had shared posts on Instagram self-promoting. However, those have since been deleted.
He recently appeared on Bachelor Happy Hour with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt where he revealed he would go back on the show in a heartbeat.
Guy also talked about the journey he had with Joan and how even though he didn’t win her heart, he was still a winner. He said,
“And what I mean by that is, she allowed me to have that transformational journey. One of those that… allowed me to realize that I can truly love again. I can have that passionate love again”
So far ABC has not announced a new lead for the second season of The Golden Bachelor. However, there have been reports that on the application to join the show it asks if they are busy between June and August of 2025.
Who do you want to see as the new lead? Have you had COVID yet this year?
