Heading into the March 3 episode of “The Bachelor,” Grant Ellis was slated to meet the families of his final four ladies. He filmed hometown dates with each of them, and had a difficult decision to make at the subsequent rose ceremony.
Ellis recently spoke about how he felt while filming heading into the hometown dates. He told Us Weekly on March 1, “I, honestly, was 100 percent sure” his wife was one of the four ladies who received hometowns.
He explained, “Because that’s what I came there for. I knew I was going to make things work.”
Grant Ellis Had a Goal With the Hometown Dates
During the March 3 episode, viewers will see Ellis meet the families of Litia Garr, Zoe McGrady, Juliana Pasquarosa, and Dina Lupancu.
A sneak peek shared on “The Bachelor” Instagram page teased that there will be some tense moments on some of the hometown dates. Despite some potential hiccups, Ellis remained confident his wife was among the four ladies who received hometown dates.
Regarding the hometown dates, Ellis noted, “It’s really important when you’re married or with somebody to get along with their family — to fit in and to be a unit. That was the goal: seeing the dynamic.”
Teasers for the ending of Ellis’ journey on “The Bachelor” suggest he was torn between his final two right up until the rose ceremony. He explained to Us Weekly that “external factors” were central in his indecision.
Despite that hesitation, Ellis told Us Weekly on February 27, “I’m happy.” He added, “I’m always happy. … I’m happy with life and I’m happy with the way that things are going and the way that things played out.”
‘The Bachelor’ Explained His Draw to Each Woman
Ellis also shared some insight into the qualities he saw in each of the four ladies that appealed to him.
He liked McGrady’s boldness. “I felt like she was there to put herself out there.” In addition, “I could really relate to some of the things she’s been through.”
With Lupancu, Ellis noted she “was really independent and strong.” That was a new experience for him in a romantic relationship, and he was “intrigued by that dynamic.”
While he described her as “very organized” and “type A,” Ellis also enjoyed seeing Lupancu’s fun side.
Ellis had “an emotional connection” with Garr, and they were physically attracted to one another too. The sneak peek of the hometown dates episode suggests that the differences in religion could become a challenge for the two, as she is Mormon and Ellis is Christian.
However, Ellis feels the differences in their religious beliefs aren’t a dealbreaker “as long as the root belief in something was there.” He believes, “If you don’t have faith, then you don’t have anything to lean on [when things get tough].”
Pasquarosa and Ellis quickly developed a physical chemistry, but he noted an emotional connection also developed. Their shared interest in playing the piano created an early connection for the pair that continued to develop.
Ellis mentioned that Pasquarosa did not get a one-on-one date with him until a bit later in filming. Despite that, he made an effort to connect with her during group dates with check-ins and frequent eye contact.
