Hannah Berner is showing some love to husband Des Bishop for a special reason.
On March 17th, the Summer House alum re-shared an Instagram post from 2024 to her Story in honor of Saint Patrick's Day. In the photo, Hannah posed wearing a shirt that declared her love for "Irish boys." Perfectly on theme, the shirt featured a shamrock instead of a heart.
"I'm very biased," Hannah stated in her Instagram Story, referencing her American-Irish husband.
Des also recently opened up about his marriage to Hannah. On a February episode of the You Must Be Jokin' podcast, Des explained how his career has changed due to his relationship. "I get stopped as much now for being Hannah's husband as I do for being Des Bishop," he said. "If they're under 30, I know that they're gonna say, 'I'm a fan of your wife.'"
Des Bishop reveals Hannah Berner's reaction to him working in Ireland
During the same podcast interview, Des, a native New Yorker who moved to Ireland as a teenager, shared how Hannah feels about him often returning to Ireland for long stretches of time.
"I come back [to Ireland] to work," explained the comedian. "Hannah sometimes is like, 'Why are you going back for so long?' I'm like, 'Well, first of all, I gotta do a tour,' but secondly, she forgets sometimes that, like, my whole life is here. This was my life. She's never known that life because I met her during the pandemic, so she's not really that aware of just like this massive existence — since 1990 to the pandemic — of an Irish life. So I like to come back to do shows, but also I like to see everybody."
Des Bishop gushes about Hannah Berner's career
Des went on to rave about Hannah's comedy and podcasting career, "She does stand-up. She's got a huge podcast. Like it's [a] top 10 comedy podcast in the States," he said. "The podcast is humungous, Giggly Squad."
He was also on hand to celebrate the premiere of her comedy special, We Ride at Dawn. The pair posed for photos together at a premiere party, and Hannah later joked that her "proudest achievement" was actually curating a playlist for the event.
Hannah Berner makes candid confessions about her life with husband Des Bishop
Hannah has recently been sharing unfiltered glimpses inside her life with Des. In a February interview with Parade, she revealed that Lactaid has been a key element to a happy marriage. "It's saved us," Hannah shared. "He literally said that to me as I left to come here. He goes, 'Tell them [it] saved our marriage.' And I said yes. So [to] anyone who's struggling in their marriage, Lactaid will solve all of your problems. It really has. We live in a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom."
Meanwhile, on the March 6 episode of Giggly Squad, Hannah joked about her sex life with Des. "I'm working on a new bit about two types of people that either want to be disrespected in the bedroom or disrespected when they're working out. I don't like being disrespected in the bedroom, because if he says one thing, I'm like, 'Did you say something to piss you off earlier, like could you talk it out with me next time instead of calling me names?'" she quipped. "In the bedroom, if Des accidentally sits on my hair or something I'm like, 'Ow!'"
