The fairy tale didn’t end when the cameras stopped — but for Love Is Blind alum Amber Pike, real life after happily ever after has been anything but easy.
In a brutally honest confession that’s as relatable as it is heartbreaking, Amber recently opened up about the mental toll of new motherhood — and how the sleepless nights, endless crying, and nonstop exhaustion have brought her to a breaking point.
“I’m not gonna sugarcoat it,” she said. “I’ve been losing it. I’m not sleeping. I’m snapping at everyone — especially Matt.”
“I Was Exploding Over Everything”
Amber didn’t hold back when describing how the pressure of caring for their baby — often through the night, alone — has changed her in ways she never expected.
“I love our baby more than anything in this world,” she shared. “But there were nights I was holding her at 3 a.m., sobbing, wondering if I was doing any of it right. I was so tired I could barely think straight. And Matt… he didn’t know how to handle me like that.”
The once-fiery, passionate connection that made Amber and Matt fan favorites has taken on new complexities. With hormones raging and tempers flaring, even the smallest arguments turned explosive.
“One minute I’d be crying, the next I’d be yelling,” Amber admitted. “Matt would try to help, but I’d just lash out. He told me, ‘I don’t even recognize you right now.’ And honestly? I didn’t recognize myself either.”
“I Felt Like I Was Failing — As a Mom, as a Wife, as Me”
While Amber has always been known for her fierce energy and unapologetic honesty, this chapter of her life has exposed a softer, more vulnerable side — one struggling under the weight of responsibility.
“I used to think love was about passion and fireworks. But now? Love is him holding me when I’m breaking down. It’s him staying up with the baby so I can get two hours of sleep. That’s what love looks like now.”
She admits Matt has had his limits, too.
“He’s had to walk away a few times. He’s told me, ‘I love you, but I can’t take your anger when you’re like this.’ And I don’t blame him. I couldn’t take it either.”
A Hope for Healing
Amber says she and Matt are now working on communication and leaning into therapy — not just for their relationship, but for her own mental health.
“Postpartum is real. Sleep deprivation is real. And so is the guilt that comes with not being the perfect mom or wife. But I’m learning it’s okay to ask for help.”
From Love Is Blind to long nights filled with baby cries and quiet chaos, Amber Pike is living the raw reality of love after the fairy tale — and discovering that sometimes, the hardest part of being strong is admitting when you’re not.
