How Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber Continue to Waltz Through Romance Rumors

DWTS' Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber Fuel Dating Speculation With “Private Rehearsals”

Jenn Tran’s journey on The Bachelorette wasn’t exactly a bed of roses.

After proposing to contestant Devin Strader in May 2024, the season 21 lead revealed on After the Final Rose that he called off their engagement.

"I don’t understand what happened, I don't understand what changed, I don't know what was happening through his head," Jenn said during the Sept. 3 finale, noting the split—on which she and Devin have different takes—occurred the month before. "But all these promises that he had made to me, all the love that he had wanted to give to me wasn’t there anymore.”

But this thorny ending led to a new rosy beginning. When she finished filming After the Final Rose in Los Angeles, Jenn flew to New York to announce on Good Morning America that she was joining season 33 of Dancing With the Stars with pro Sasha Farber in a last-minute casting decision—like, really last-minute.

"It was such a whirlwind," the reality star recalled on the Nov. 14 episode of Brandi Cyrus and Tish Cyrus' podcast Sorry We’re Cyrus. “When I ran off the stage of the finale, they had said, 'You’re going on Dancing With the Stars.' Got on the plane within 40 minutes and met Sasha at the airport. So I wasn’t even thinking, 'Who’s my partner?' I was thinking, 'I need a toothbrush in the morning.' So wild. It was out of a movie. It was romantic almost meeting in the airport. I was like, 'Who’s Sasha?' I had to Google his name."

But once they met, they quickly formed a friendship.

"She's only met me for four hours," Sasha told E! News shortly after the GMA reveal. Still, Jenn suggested he got her first impression rose. "For four hours," she added, "first impression has been great so far."

Sasha promised to be there for the right reasons, too.

"She’s catching me up on absolutely everything that happened, and it sounds horrible," the 40-year-old continued. "And I’m here for her, and I’m going to support her. And I just met her, but I feel like I’m gonna be there for her all the time."

Dancing With the Stars season 33 premiered two weeks later. And as judge Derek Hough told Jenn, “Forget about The Bachelorette because you found your perfect match right here with Sasha.”

While the six-time mirrorball champion was referring to the duo’s dancing partnership, it wasn’t long before viewers started to wonder if their bond could be something more. Especially because Sasha (who was previously married to fellow DWTS pro Emma Slater) and Jenn (who first appeared on DWTS competitor Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor) fueled dating speculation with their playful social media posts and coy answers about where they stood.

"We have so much fun together," she told E! News after the week two episode later in September. And when correspondent Will Marfuggi asked if there were "more than friendship vibes," Sasha simply replied, "Guys, guys, guys, come on."

Still, the dating speculation continued. And by the time Disney night rolled around in October—with Sasha and Jenn dancing a rumba to The Little Mermaid’s “Kiss the Girl”—Derek asked, “Is it weird for me to say that I ship this?”

But the following week—after Jenn and Sasha earned a 10 for their Halloween night contemporary routine—they were eliminated from the competition.

"We spent the past seven weeks attached at the hip," she said upon her exit. "I can’t even imagine a life without Sasha at this point, and I didn’t even know him seven weeks ago."

Luckily, Jenn won’t have to as she noted she and Sasha are now roommates.

"I gotta figure out a place to live, and that’s probably Sasha’s couch right now," she added on Sorry We’re Cyrus. "It’s amazing. He’s gonna make me cook and clean every day, I don’t know how I feel about that, but I don’t have to pay rent. And then I get free dogs too, free dog therapy. It’s perfect."
