“I Loved Him Deeply — But I Love Myself More”: Love Is Blind’s Brittany Wisniewski Confirms Breakup With Mod Sun, Says She’s Finally Choosing Her Own Peace

Brittany Wisniewski and Mod Sun have called it quits.

The Love Is Blind season 7 star and the musician, 38, have split after five months together, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Wisniewski, 33, says: "Just to clear the air, Mod and I have gone our separate ways. It was a fun time and I’m grateful for the experiences, but I’m in a new place now and ready for what’s next."

"I’m excited to focus on what I love, keep growing, and yes — start dating again," she adds. "Nothing more inspiring than embarking on a new chapter."

The reality star also tells PEOPLE that the pair "grew up apart largely due to distance." They officially called things off in April 2025, though they have "hung out a bit since then," which prompted her to refrain from saying anything until now.

The former couple was first linked in November 2024.

The duo was spotted having dinner at Catch Steak in Los Angeles before posing for a photo at the time. The night prior, they had been seen packing on some PDA inside a Los Angeles bar after Mod Sun's concert, according to TMZ.

In December 2024, the singer (né Derek Ryan Smith) briefly commented on their relationship, telling TMZ, "Things are great."

Their romance came after their respective splits.

As fans recall, Wisniewski was previously engaged to her Love Is Blind costar, Leo Braudy, but things quickly went awry after their first reveal, when Wisniewski was unable to say "I love you" to Braudy, 31.

Though the two did ultimately jet off to Miami for a vacation, they eventually called off their engagement and split for good.

"The chemistry just wasn't there," Wisniewski told PEOPLE in October 2024. "We had a talk in the beginning about how this could work and then time went on during the trip and the chemistry just wasn't there and we mutually felt that."

"We're very good communicators, so it was not a big ordeal. It was a very clean, respectful realization. Leo, like I said, checked off a lot of the boxes of what I wanted in a man," she continued. "He's just not my person."

Mod Sun, meanwhile, was previously linked to Avril Lavigne, 40, to whom he got engaged in March 2022. In February 2023, a source close to the pair told PEOPLE that they are "no longer together" after being on and off for months.

 Love Is Blind seasons 1-8 are now streaming on Netflix. Season 9 is set to premiere on Oct. 1.
