New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin is arguably the best in the entire world and when you are one of the best, you have to also go out each and every game to beat the best.
As a top-tier goalie in the league, Shesterkin has the bonafide to speak on who the best shooter in the league is. While speaking to Russian media, that is exactly what he did. Shockingly, the goaltender named an aging superstar as the most difficult player he has ever faced.
'Well, it comes to my mind, there are a lot of players who scored on me,' he said. 'So, it's hard to choose only three. I'm gonna start with (Sidney) Crosby because he can always make different moves that are very hard to anticipate."
However, Shesterkin also made sure to pay homage to some of the other incredible players in the league. Among them are Jack Hughes and even Nathan MacKinnon. These are players for the New Jersey Devils and the Colorado Avalanche, respectively. They are players that are hugely respected around the league, and it is easy to see why.
'Also, probably Hughes from New Jersey. And, probably MacKinnon because he's got a good shot.'
Now, Shesterkin will look to stop these players all season long as his Rangers seek a Stanley Cup championship.
