Oakland elementary school garden, funded by Stephen and Ayesha Curry, vandalized | Fox News

One of Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha's projects was ransacked over the weekend. A garden the NBA power couple helped fund last year for a school in Oakland was the target of vandals who caused significant damage, TMZ reports.

Oakland Unified School District said the planters at the Global Family Elementary School's garden were torn apart. The officials added that the people behind this also broke the irrigation system, wooden benches, and a ladder, among others.

"It's unfortunate that anyone would think that causing this kind of damage anywhere would be fun, funny, or a good idea," the district said in a statement Tuesday, via TMZ. "It only served to hurt the students and staff at the school."

They said it would take significant resources to return the garden to its previous state.

This garden was added to the playground at the Oakland school during the 2022-23 school year and was funded in part by Steph and Ayesha Curry's Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.

Steph Curry and his wife are yet to comment on this situation.

Ayesha Curry pays heartfelt tribute to Steph Curry for Father's Day

The Currys are one of the most famous families in the NBA. Steph and Ayesha don't hesitate to show their love for each other on social media and this Sunday, Ayesha shared a lengthy message to celebrate Steph on Father's Day.

“@stephencurry30 There are no amount of words that could help to tell the story of how much we love you. Our sweet FOUR babies are so lucky to have you as their dad. Ever present even amid chaos, silly, loving, compassionate yet stern when necessary. You are EVERYTHING!!! We love you soooooo much. Happy Father’s Day my lover.”

The family got bigger in May when they welcomed their fourth kid, becoming a family of six. Steph Curry and Ayesha visited a restaurant last week to celebrate the good news for the family.

Steph Curry also celebrated his father for the special day with a series of pictures on Instagram, thanking Dell Curry for having 'the best job in the world.'

"Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. Keep being strong for you and yours. Lead with love and generosity. Know that your job is the best job in the world," Steph wrote.
