According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, it seems inevitable that Miller will be moved this offseason.

This comes shortly after Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman originally reported that the New York Rangers are beginning to explore the trade market for Miller, and Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects stated that there is significant interest in the young defenseman.

With Miller set to become a restricted free agent this summer and a contract extension still not signed, the likelihood of a trade is becoming more of a possibility.

Arthur Staple of the Athletic linked the Rangers to defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and it’s unclear if their reported interest in Gavrikov impacts Miller’s future with the Blueshirts.

The 25-year-old is coming off a season in which he regressed in his overall level of play, but he still appears to have a ton of value due to his potential.

If the Rangers wait until July 1 and don’t have an extension in place, they risk losing Miller via an offer sheet and will likely receive less in return as opposed to in a trade.

Time is ticking and all eyes are on the Rangers to see how Miller’s future will be handled.
