J.T. Miller recently returned to the New York Rangers, and now he's been all praise for Team USA's coach and new Rangers bench boss Mike Sullivan.
After a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, the New York Rangers made some quick changes this off-season, including hiring Mike Sullivan, who has been on their radar as a potential Head Coach since 2021.
We've heard plenty of positives from around the league, but now one of the top Rangers stars in J.T. Miller has addressed the teams new hire after they worked together at the Four Nations Face Off, where Sullivan worked as the Head Coach.
I remember when I needed a straight answer, he's the guy. It's a hard game to give those answers sometimes. He's been very straightforward with me.Very direct. That helps my game. I have time to not think about hockey right now, but I'm looking forward to getting to know him.

He played as a 19-year-old rookie for the Rangers with Sullivan as an assistant.
"I remember when I needed a straight answer, he's the guy."
Miller now hopes for more of the same.

As that was a tournament over a few weeks in February, Miller isn't expecting Sullivan to be exactly the same over a pre-season and a long 82-game season, but the excitement is still there for Miller and the entire Rangers team.
He's a great person. I think it's obviously a little looser there than it would be over an 82-game schedule, but he's a great guy. I haven't heard a single bad thing about him. On the coaching front, I just have the utmost respect for him, his resume, his career and what he's been able to accomplish.I'm really looking forward to working with him. I have so much respect for what he's done in this game. I think it'll be a good fit.
After working with Peter Laviolette last season, the Rangers desperately needed someone like Sullivan to lead the way for them, and he may just be the answer that can help them go on a deep Stanley Cup run.
While Miller will be around on this team, the futures of Chris Kreider, Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad aren't quite as certain, so with Sullivan in charge, expect to see more changes as this team look to get back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2026.
