Eddie Hearn, CEO of Matchroom Boxing and representative of former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, shared his thoughts on Jake Paul's desire to fight the British boxer.
Eddie Hearn for The Stomping Ground
We’re planning to fight someone else, other than Jake Paul, just because we can’t rely on Jake Paul accepting the fight. Whilst he’s got people around him that probably pump sh** into his head and tell him he’s the second coming of Ali, he’s not an idiot. He knows the risks associated with this fight, and this fight is very dangerous, like very dangerous.
Paul last stepped into the ring in June 2025, winning a unanimous decision against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. He has a record of 12 wins (seven by knockout) and one loss.
Joshua’s last fight took place in September 2024, where he lost to Daniel Dubois by knockout in the fifth round. He boasts a record of 28 wins (25 by knockout) and four losses.
