Jalen Hurts Gets Big Injury Update After Nick Sirianni Announcement

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face off against the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs this weekend, but all eyes are on superstar quarterback Jalen Hurts after he was forced out of the team's Week 16 contest with a concussion before missing Philly's final two games of the regular season.

Jalen Hurts Gets Big Injury Update After Nick Sirianni Announcement

While the Eagles were OK with playing without Hurts for their final two regular season games since they had virtually locked up the NFC East at this point, head coach Nick Sirianni raised some eyebrows on Tuesday when he said that the talented passer had yet to clear the NFL's concussion protocol.

With that in mind, it was fair to wonder whether Hurts would be able to play in this do-or-die game for the Eagles. However, Hurts managed to take the practice field on Wednesday and log a limited practice, indicating that he is trending towards playing on Sunday against Green Bay.

"Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (concussion/left finger) was listed as a limited participant in practice today -- another step as he makes his way through the protocol ahead of Sunday's playoff vs. Green Bay," Tom Pelissero shared in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

While Hurts still has to clear the concussion protocol, taking the practice field is a part of that process. Hurts isn't out of the woods just yet, but he seems to be trending in the right direction, and he still has a couple of days to get himself fully healthy before these two teams square off.

If Hurts can't go, the Eagles would likely turn to Kenny Pickett, though it's worth noting he's been dealing with a rib injury over the past couple of weeks. Right now, though, Philadelphia isn't thinking about that, and they will continue to prepare as if Hurts is going to play when they take on Green Bay in their huge playoff clash.
