“Dancing with the Stars” Season 28 alum James Van Der Beek has a lot in his life that he is grateful for, and on Friday, August 1, he highlighted one of these reasons with a heartfelt post.
The “Dawson’s Creek” actor has been married to Kimberly Van Der Beek since 2010, and he celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary with an Instagram post of them looking into the camera.
They look contented and comfortable as they pose for a selfie. It is a photo that highlights their bond. Van Der Beek shared his thoughts in the caption, writing, “15 years ago today, this woman agreed to be my bride.@vanderkimberly you are the most extraordinary human I’ve ever met.”
He continued, “One day I’ll tell the story of what you’ve endured these last two years and how you’ve shown up, time and time and time again. You have not only saved my life… you’ve shown me what it is to live. There are no words for how much I love and appreciate you. I could not do this without you. Happy anniversary my love.”
Fans have been moved by the post and praised the couple in the comments. “These are the kind of humans that are worth following and cheering on,” a fan wrote. “You two are goals. I will never know you, personally, but I aspire to have the gratitude and respect that you two have,” another shared. “Sending you anniversary wishes.”
Other reactions include, “Real Men treat their wives this way!,” “Happy anniversary! May your love and commitment endure now and forevermore,” and “LOVE YOU LOVERS!!!! Here’s to another 150 years together!”
DWTS pros have also reacted to the post with Gleb Savchenko commenting with a red heart emoji, and Sasha Farber commented with four heart-eye emojis.
Kimberly and James met in 2009 during a trip to Israel, People reports. Their love progressed quickly, with them marrying in Tel Aviv, Israel, on August 1, 2010, and welcoming their first child, a daughter, Olivia, on September 25, 2010. The couple is also parents to five other children: Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn, and Jeremiah.
The actor has given a glimpse into their relationship with his sweet posts on social media. When they celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2020, he shared a beautiful post on Instagram, reflecting on how they had met.
“Ten years ago today this woman made me the happiest I’d ever been,” he wrote, before listing the differences in his life before he had met her. “A year prior to that, I’d been famous, been wealthy, been married, been divorced, been less-than-wealthy, been single… and I was in Israel, on a trip with an organized group, when it hit me: I was done being single. I wanted a real relationship. A soul mate. Someone with whom I could build a family,” he wrote. And he found that and so much more in his relationship with Kimberly!
