The Valley’s Janet Caperna Defends Being Called a 'Fan' as Zack Says She Sought Scheana Out, and Kristen Accuses Her of 'Badmouthing,' Plus How Janet Joined the Show

Janet Caperna is admitting to being not only a fan of Bravo, but also the “number one fan” of Scheana Shay.

As the 35-year-old cast member of The Valley looked back on the controversial way in which she first met Scheana, 40, and explained why she believes the Vanderpump Rules alum is “[her] person,” Zack Wickham, 36, called her out for seeking out the Pump Rules star. Plus, Kristen Doute, 42, accused her of playing dirty, and Brittany Cartwright, 36, and Lala Kent, 34, defended her.

“I’m a millennial woman who watches Bravo. Shocking. I’m their target demographic. I still watch Bravo. I’m still a fan,” Janet admitted on the July 8 episode of The Valley: After Show.

Looking back at her first encounter with Scheana, who was seated beside her during the taping, Janet said that she and her best friend from Ohio set out to have some fun at a pool party after she split from her ex-husband.

“It’s not like she slid in my DMs and sought me and was like stalking me,” Scheana clarified. “She came up to me, recognized me, but also, we had a mutual friend, so it wasn’t like she was a complete stranger. We just hit it off, did some shots, and took about 200 photos on her friend’s camera.”

According to Janet, Scheana was one of the first people she told that she was getting divorced.

“I was like, ‘I know you got divorced at a young age … am I gonna be okay?’ My birthday came up a month later … She took me to Disneyland, she treated me to everything … [Scheana] showed me [her] heart from day one and I was like, ‘This is my person,’” Janet shared, joking that she “kind of [loves] the narrative” about her being a “super fan.”

“I always will be [Scheana’s] number one fan,” she added.

Janet also said that she was always “transparent” about her affinity for Bravo.

“I’ve always been like, ‘Yeah, I was a fan.’ Did I ever think that it was gonna flourish into a friendship that almost nine years later, we’re sitting here together? No. But I’m so happy it did. [And] if this is my master plan, I’m f*cking good,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Zack suspected that Janet did, in fact, have a plan.

“She self-admittedly knew that Scheana was at the Mondrian at a pool party, went there to be like ‘Oh I’m at a pool party,’ because she’s from Ohio and she loves Bravo,” he stated. “[And] Scheana being Scheana brought her into the flock and exchanged numbers and the rest is history.”

Also speaking of their friendship, Scheana pointed out that the group, including Kristen, didn’t initially have an issue with Janet’s interest in Pump Rules.

“She wants to call you a fan and try to use that against you now. Yet when you were there for her every day when she was in this toxic relationship and going through a breakup, she didn’t care that you were a f*cking fan. She cared that you were one of her best friends,” she described.

In her own segment, Kristen reflected on being “very, very close” to Janet in years past.

“When I met her, she was dating this guy who was Lebanese, and I found out that she was fluent in sign language. And I was like, ‘Oh my god. I’m Lebanese and I’m fluent in sign language. And we should be friends.’ [She] kind of came into my life, and [she was] such a me kind of girl,” Kristen explained, admitting that she didn’t care if she watched Bravo or Pump Rules at first.

Then, amid The Valley season one, things took a turn between them.

“It didn’t seem like a big deal to me, right up until we started filming The Valley season one. I remember watching back an episode about my ex-boyfriend [Alex Menache] that [Jax Taylor] brought, and she just sat there and badmouthed me, so it was like, okay, this is the game we’re gonna play,” she shared.

Also on the After Show, Brittany confirmed that she was the one who “put Janet’s name on the list to be on The Valley.”

“Janet didn’t come to me wanting to be on The Valley,” she stated.

“Nor was she ever thirsty to be on Vanderpump Rules,” added Lala.

The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
