Jax Taylor recalls doing ‘enough cocaine to kill a small horse’ after Brittany Cartwright left him

Jax Taylor did “enough cocaine to kill a small horse” before finally cleaning up his act.

The “Valley” star admitted he hit “rock bottom” after his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, announced their separation in February 2024, which led him to go to rehab, get sober and publicly share his addiction issues.

“I was in my house by myself for months,” he told Us Weekly in an interview published Wednesday. “I wasn’t eating. I was drinking and doing enough cocaine to kill a small horse. I went on a full-on tear.”

Taylor, 45, recalled feeling “so depressed” because he felt like he had “lost everything” when Cartwright, 36, ended their nearly five-year marriage.

“The devil on my shoulder was louder than that angel on my shoulder,” he shared.

The “Vanderpump Rules” alum also confessed to spending a “sickening” amount of money on drugs and alcohol since his early 20s.

“I could probably buy a house for the amount of money I’ve spent on drugs,” he said. “It’s sickening to me. My parents did not raise this kind of person.”

Taylor announced earlier this month that he had been addicted to cocaine and sought treatment at a rehabilitation facility twice.

He first checked into a center in July 2024 but admittedly did not take the program seriously and relapsed just 30 days later.

Then, in November, Taylor and Cartwright got into an explosive argument in front of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, over her texting another man.

“I had flashes of everything you’re not supposed to do as a parent,” he told Us Weekly. “[Cartwright] was like, ‘He needs to go back.’ I didn’t put up a fight.”

The former bartender subsequently sought treatment for both his mental health and substance abuse struggles and has been sober from cocaine and alcohol for more than 100 days.

During his stay, Taylor was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder — and narcissism.

He shared in the new interview that he is the “healthiest [he has] ever been” and has no interest in going down the wrong path again.

“I know for a fact I’ll never touch it again,” he told the magazine. “People are like, ‘Well, you don’t know.’ No, I know.”
