Jax Taylor says Tom Sandoval has been a shoulder for him to lean on amid his divorce from Brittany Cartwright.
“[He was] just checking on me,” the “Valley” star explained on Thursday’s episode of his and Cartwright’s “When Reality Hits” podcast.
“I was shocked because I [hadn’t] heard from Tom in a long time, and now I probably talk to Tom three or four times a week.”
Taylor, 45, said Sandoval, 42, began reaching out to him after he entered an inpatient rehab facility to focus on his mental health in late July.
“I know people are gonna be shocked by that,” he noted.
The former “Vanderpump Rules” co-stars notoriously had a rocky relationship on their hit Bravo show.
Taylor also heavily criticized Sandoval after the latter was caught cheating on Ariana Madix with their friend and co-star Raquel Leviss in March 2023.
“I think he likes to be able to tell her what to do,” the Bravo star said of his on-again, off-again friend last year. “I think [Leviss is] very co-dependent, and I think he preys on that.”
However, Taylor seemed to ease up on Sandoval by August 2023 when he said he wanted “the best” for his pal and insisted their past troubles were “harmless.”
During “When Reality Hits” this week, which the father of one recorded without Cartwright, Taylor even went so far as to call Sandoval his “best friend.”
“I love Tom, and I will always love him no matter what he does,” he stated. “He’s my best friend, along with Tom Schwartz. They’re both my best friends.”

Taylor also revealed he has been hanging out with Sandoval “a little bit more lately.”
“He comes to the bar, he sings karaoke,” he explained, referencing his and Cartwright’s Jax’s Studio City.
“You know, he’s on tour right now, but I just hung out with him and his mom and his dad, and it was just great to see him.”
Referring to their past drama and Sandoval’s affair, Taylor added, “People make mistakes in life, but you gotta move on from it. … We all gotta forgive each other at some point.”
Taylor’s comments come just over a month after Cartwright, 35, filed for divorce after five years of marriage. She filed the paperwork following her ex’s bipolar disorder and PTSD diagnosis.
Although Cartwright was the one to first reveal the pair were taking a break back in February, a source told Page Six exclusively in August that Taylor is “100 percent on board” with the decision to part ways.
“He’s been checked out from the marriage for a long time now,” the insider noted at the time. “He just wants to have an amicable co-parent relationship.”
Taylor and Cartwright tied the knot in her home state of Kentucky in June 2019 after dating on and off due to a cheating scandal that was featured on “Vanderpump Rules.”
They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.
