The 45-year-old Vanderpump Rules star plans to check out of the inpatient facility later this week, sources close to him told TMZ on Monday.

His current plans are to allegedly check out on Thursday, August 22, and then move back to his home in Los Angeles.

The sources added that Jax is looking forward to spending some quality time with his three-year-old son Cruz, whom he shares with his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright — who recently sparked romance rumors with a former Bachelorette suitor.

He's said to be most excited about spending time with his son Cruz, three (pictured). Jax will also be going back to work on The Valley, but only when he's ready, as it's not a major priority

Although Jax is eagerly anticipating some bonding time with Cruz, there's no indication of a thawing between him and Brittany.

The sources close to him said he plans to move back into the family home, where he had been living prior to entering the treatment facility, but Brittany will continue to live close by in a property she has been renting recently.

In addition to spending as much time with Cruz as possible, Jax is also reportedly looking forward to getting back into the swing of his regular life after having his life completely shaken up while in treatment.

Part of getting back to his previous routines includes going back to work, though the sources noted that it's not one of his highest priorities.

Jax has missed out on much of the filming of season two of The Valley, the Vanderpump Rules spinoff series that he and Brittany headline with fellow fired Vanderpump Rules alumna Kristen Doute and several newcomers, as it returned earlier this summer and continued while he was away receiving treatment.

Although Brittany and the rest of the cast continued without him, he will be rejoining them in front of the cameras once he checks out of the facility.

However, he won't be in a rush to get back on camera until he's fully situated with the rest of his personal life.

The sources added that Jax is planning to reveal the details of what led him to need to go into inpatient treatment in the first place, but he's going to take his time before sharing.

They indicated that viewers can expect a particularly poignant episode when he is ready to open up about what has been going on in his personal life.

Earlier this month, Jax confirmed reports that he had checked into a mental health treatment facility with a moving Instagram post for his son Cruz.

The former Vanderpump Rules star shared a sweet photo of himself holding the thee-year-old boy as he planted a kiss on his cheek.

Late last month, a representative for Jax shared with TMZ that he was 'seeking in-patient treatment' for 'mental health struggles.

'Working on getting better for you buddy, I love you ❤️,' he wrote lovingly in the caption.

Cruz looked happy to spend some time with his father, as he displayed a soft smile for the camera while munching on an apple.

On Tuesday, a representative for Jax shared with TMZ that he was 'seeking in-patient treatment' for 'mental health struggles.'

'Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,' they shared.

'He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.'

The decision to get help followed a concerning visit from the police to the home where Jax had lived with his wife Brittany Cartwright for some time after their separation in February, though she later moved out into an Airbnb after tensions between the two became too high to overcome.

He was reportedly seen speaking to police officers, who carried a brown envelope with them, before he headed to the gym for a workout.

Earlier this month, DailyMail.com revealed that their $1.9 million Los Angels home had been slapped by the California Franchise Tax Board with a lien in the amount of $35,239.88.

The tax lien was filed on June 12 of this year.

Brittany previously said that she was responsible for all of the bills for the home, while Jax was the one taking care of its mortgage payments.

DailyMail.com reached out to Cartwright's representatives at the time, who declined to comment.

According to documents detailing the lien, 'further interest and fees will accrue' until it is paid off in full.

The couple's $1.9 million LA home was hit with a $35K tax lien in June

Last month, Jax detailed some of the strategies he and Brittany were working on in hopes of saving their marriage, including therapy, on their When Reality Hits podcast.

Brittany and Jax's relationship dates back to 2015, but they hit a speed bump in 2017 when he admitted to having an affair with their Vanderpump Rules costar Faith Stowers.

The couple eventually reconciled and had gotten engaged by the following year, before they were married in Kentucky in 2019. They went on to welcome little Cruz in 2021.

Following their firing from Vanderpump Rules in 2020, the couple began documenting the dissolution of their marriage earlier this year in the spinoff series The Valley, which also stars another former Vanderpump Rules alumna, Kristen Doute.
