Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is a name that has been catching much attention after his performance during the Senior Bowl.

He has now become a serious candidate to be one of the few quarterbacks taken in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and has the opportunity to become a franchise player.

There have been many different scenarios for where he could be taken, and in a mock draft created by Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, he has the Cleveland Browns selecting Dart.

However, it's not with their No. 2 pick but rather at No. 29 after receiving it from the Washington Commanders, along with the No. 61 pick and a conditional third-rounder for defensive end Myles Garrett at the No. 165 pick.

"The Browns go a unique route to land their quarterback, and being the No. 29 overall pick won't cost this cash-strapped club nearly as much as if he was the No. 2 overall pick." he wrote.

It's an interesting scenario because Cleveland does have quarterback Deshaun Watson, who still has two more seasons to play under his five-year $230 million contract.

However, after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon, Watson was limited to just seven games in 2024. In those games, he wasn't necessarily impressive, completing 137 of 216 passes for five touchdowns and three interceptions.

Things only got worse because, on Jan. 10, Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported that he'd re-ruptured the tendon, which required surgery and now puts his 2025 return date up in the air.

That means if Dart were to go to the Browns, he could be the team's Week 1 starter and the eventual replacement for Watson, who, in three years with the Browns, has played in only 19 games.
