Jenelle Evans Shares Update on Son Jace's Living Situation (Exclusive)

Jenelle Evans, former star of Teen Mom, has been focusing on her family, and recent updates reveal that her eldest son, Jace Evans, is back living with her in North Carolina after spending time with his father in Florida.

In an interview published on July 18, Jenelle shared the good news, explaining that Jace, now 15, had recently returned home. “Jace, he's doing good, he's back at home, he's not living with his father,” Jenelle said. "He'll be starting 11th grade. And he's just been, you know, he's been getting into skateboarding recently, so that's his thing."

Reflecting on her son’s growth, Jenelle expressed how quickly time has passed. "It's really crazy because you see the transition from a little boy to a young man, and he'll be 16 in August, and it's just really crazy. It just flies by so quick. So I'm just really cherishing every moment I can before he turns 18 and decides to leave."

Jace had been living with his father, Andrew Lewis, in Florida for a few months due to ongoing behavioral issues, including his struggles with ADHD, major depressive disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). Jenelle previously explained on TikTok that Jace was also staying with his paternal grandmother, someone he hadn't seen in years.

"I know everyone may see this as a negative situation, but behind closed doors, it's been a positive thing for him," Jenelle had said.

Despite the difficulties, Jenelle emphasized the importance of protecting Jace’s privacy and mental health. “It’s been hard to deal with,” she admitted. “Kids act out on purpose because they want attention. They have no remorse. They have no empathy for what they did.”

Jenelle acknowledged that her family had been facing these challenges for years, especially as Jace’s mental health struggles persisted. "Now we've gotten to the point where it's happened too many times, multiple incidents for years and years and years. Something had to be done."

In the interview, Jenelle also discussed how she and her mother, Barbara Evans, worked hard to protect Jace from media scrutiny while trying to help him. "Separating the chaos to protect my two younger kids is very important," Jenelle said. "Also for him to protect himself."

The decision to let Jace move in with Andrew and his family was not easy for Jenelle. "When you're co-parenting, if both sides of the family can come together to help solve these issues before they turn into adults and really get themselves in trouble—it's really important," she explained.

Jenelle ended the interview by defending her actions as a mother. “You can say all you want,” she said. “You can say I'm not taking care of my kids. Being a mother is doing the best interest for your child and I am doing the best interest for my child.”

Jenelle’s dedication to her children and their well-being continues to be a central part of her journey as a mother.
