Season 21 of The Bachelorette ended in heartbreak and betrayal. After spending the whole season pursuing Jenn Tran, convincing her that he was her guy, and getting down on one knee to propose, Pete Davidson’s doppelganger Devin Strader changed his mind. He didn’t love her after all. Jenn was devastated.
But once she was named to the Season 33 cast of Dancing with the Stars, Jenn’s heart started to heal. Dancing partner Sasha Farber was a big part of that.
On October 29, Jenn and Sasha were eliminated from the competition in seventh place. She woke up the next morning already missing her time with Sasha in the dance studio.

“Honestly, the past week has been really tough,” Jenn told People, following her exit from the show. “The first day after I woke up and I was like, ‘Today’s the first day in seven weeks that I won’t dance a single step’, which is just sad. I truly had the time of my life [and] really feel like it was the best couple of weeks of my life.”
During her time on the show, Jenn not only made a good friend, but she discovered a love of dance. She wants to continue dancing and plans to enroll in dance classes.
During their time together, Sasha also encouraged Jenn to stay focused on what “really matters.” He helped her remain grounded amid the breakup with Devin and all the online chatter.
“He kept reminding me that it’s the stuff that’s not online that really matters,” the physician assistant student shared. “It’s your friends and family who know you the best that really matter.”
Devin called off their engagement not long after proposing in Hawaii. Almost as soon as the ring was on her finger, their relationship changed.
“As soon as we left Hawaii, things were just different,” Jenn told show host Jesse Palmer at the After the Final Rose special. “It kind of just felt like he was pulling away all the promises that he had made to me — wanting to move somewhere together, wanting to have this future planned out, and wanting to see each other all the time.”
During the ATFR, Jenn explained that she finally got a call from Devin after not hearing from him for days. He ended their engagement over the phone. Classy.
But once she was in the rehearsal studio, Sasha helped Jenn to pick up the pieces of her life again. “He’s just such an amazing guy to have while I was going through so much,” she added. “To have such a good human and a good friend throughout the whole thing, I really feel like it was such a healing process for me.”
