Jenna Johnson's son is recovering from a rough night.
The Dancing with the Stars professional dancer, 30, shared photos on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, May 2, after her 15-month-old son Rome had to spend part of the night in an ambulance. Posting a photo from her bed, Johnson took a selfie with Rome and husband Val Chmerkovskiy, 38, as they cuddled in bed together.
Rome could be seen drinking from a blue sippy cup, snuggled in between his parents. "Rough night last night ❤️🩹," Johnson wrote over the photo.
Another photo showed Rome sitting on Chmerkovskiy's leg as the two were in an ambulance. A paramedic held an oxygen mask up to Rome's mouth as Johnson snapped the photo, adding a broken heart emoji.
In a video added to Johnson's Instagram Stories, Rome smiled and giggled as the paramedic talked with him, moving to place the oxygen mask on his face. "This would be our son," Johnson wrote. "So insanely sick but flirting with the beautiful paramedic helping him."
Later that night, the concerned mom posted an update after receiving messages of support from her followers.
"Thank you to everyone who reached out!!" Johnson wrote over a picture of Rome with one of his toys. "Rome is doing much better today 🙏🏻 He caught a bad case of croup."
"Had some troubles getting enough oxygen during a coughing attack in the middle of the night. We were all pretty hysterical and scared. Thankfully doing much better today after seeing the doctors."
In January, the proud parents celebrated their son's first birthday, with Johnson sharing a series of adorable photos on Instagram of Rome from his first trip around the sun.
Rome smiled as he sat on a gold couch, wearing a birthday crown that read "One," with the "O" in the shape of a bear.
In other photos, he stood and giggled, and was presented with his birthday cake. Rome got the cake all over his face, looking up at Mom and Dad as they joined him for a family photo. "Happy 1st Birthday to the sweetest soul I’ve ever known 🩵," Johnson began her caption.
"I am torn with emotions on this beautiful day of celebration. A full year of knowing you, loving you, and learning from you. Yet how have 365 magical days gone by of you being my tiny (huge) baby that I’ll never get back?"
"Time is truly the greatest gift and I’ll cherish every minute I get with you my sweet love. Thank you for making me a mother. It’s been a dream come true to watch you grow into the most observant and joyful boy. I love you with every fiber of my being!" she ended the post.
