Bachelor Nation fans saw Jess Girod look for love on Season 27 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Last year, she moved to San Diego, California, and has been keeping fans updated with her life online.
Recently, Jess has gotten back into dating and has taken to social media to get candid about her experience.
In a new video, Jess shared that she was going on a first date and opened up about her nerves.
She said, “I am going on a first date and I don’t know anything about this guy. I don’t think we have any mutuals. I’m kind of freaking out… This guy DM’d me on Instagram. I never answer DM’s to go on a date. Especially since this guy doesn’t live here, so I was like, ‘Eh, there’s no point.’ But then he did it again like six months later and I don’t know, I appreciate persistence and why not… Wish me luck!”
Jess then posted another video online afterward, giving an update on how the date went.
She shared, “We went and got dinner and walked around and it was so fun. I feel like the highlight of the whole thing was the fact that it wasn’t that scary to date again. I’ve been on like one or two dates this past year, but I just wasn’t ready when I was doing them. Taking the time to really work on yourself is so, so important.”
Jess continued and reflected on how this date was different compared to others as well as how her outlook has changed.
“It was kind of the first time I went into a date really just knowing that date and moving forward that I am a catch,” she said. “I’ve worked on myself and I know what I bring to the table… It’s nice to know that I actually can be open to this again, whereas in the last very long time, I was not. And it was a really good date, so that’s all.”
We’re so glad that Jess’ date went well and love hearing that she’s excited to start dating again.
