Bachelor Nation fans saw Jess Girod look for love on Season 27 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Last year, she moved to San Diego, California, and has been keeping fans updated with her life online.
Now, Jess took to her Instagram stories for a Q&A, where she opened up about her time on “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise.”
One fan asked Jess for advice because they are interested in applying for the shows.
She said, “Yay so exciting!! I give the same advice every time and it’s to make sure you know who you are and stick by your morals/beliefs. It’s a very high stress environment and although it looks like all fun & games — you will inevitably return to your real life, job, friends and family... so don’t change who you are just for an extra 15 minutes.”
Jess went on, saying, “MOST IMPORTANTLY — make sure your mental health is in a good place and lean on the people who love you to support you. When I would read mean comments I had an army of people in my corner and it really saved me from spiraling lol. I am so thankful I went on the show and made the most amazing friendships but thankfully I am not easily persuaded and was very sure of what I was looking for. Good luck to anyone who goes on!”
The Bachelor Nation star shared how she stayed grounded while on the shows and what Taylor Swift item kept her connected to home.
She said, “Also bring something from home to keep you grounded — I brought pics of my family and letters from my friends, and this Lover bracelet from the Taylor Swift concert lol so that it could remind me what I was looking for and who I am!!”
How sweet!
