JK Dobbins Job As Broncos Lead Rusher In Doubt Says NFL Analyst

J.K. Dobbins Doesn't Believe in Slowing Down

JK Dobbins, newly signed running back with the Denver Broncos, will definitely not be RB1 for the team in the upcoming football season, according to team insider, Nick Kosminder. Dobbins recently signed a one-year deal with the Broncos for a total sum of $5.25 million, but he is of course, not the only running back in the team’s roster.

Apart from Dobbins, the Broncos also have rookie RJ Harvey, whom the team selected in the second round of the draft. Harvey has been an impressive force for the team in the minicamps and is definitely on the list for the primary running back for the Broncos.

“Denver drafted RJ Harvey in the second round and the rookie showcased good hands and crisp route-running ability during the offseason program. Just before minicamp ended, Denver also signed JK Dobbins to give the room a productive veteran presence it previously didn’t have. Those two should lead the charge to replace Javonte Williams as the team’s leading rusher, but just how much of an upgrade one or both players can become will go a long way toward determining Denver’s offensive ceiling in its second season with quarterback Bo Nix.” Nick Kosminder said about J.K. Dobbins and the Denver Broncos for The Athletic.

JK Dobbins played in the previous NFL season for the Los Angeles Chargers but left without an extension. In the 2024 NFL season, Dobbins managed a total of 125 carries for 905 yards, scoring nine touchdowns for the Chargers.

On another note, J.K. Dobbins does not seem disappointed with his position in the Denver Broncos. Soon after he made the deal with the team, Dobbins spoke to The Denver Post and remarked on how he has been trained to never give up.

“I’m just wired the way where I just, I can’t give up. I mean, I don’t know how to give up. I don’t know how to lay down.” J.K. Dobbins said to The Denver Post about his new deal with the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos have made several moves during their offseason and will be desperate to churn out a better record in the upcoming football season. The Broncos and Dobbins are scheduled to kick off their next season with a matchup with the Tennessee Titans. J.K. Dobbins seems to be on his way to show an improved version of himself, even if he is not RB1.
