Joe Rogan Bowled Over by Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali’s “Heavy Moment” With Josh Brolin

Joe Rogan has had the opportunity to meet and hang out with Mike Tyson on more occasions than one, but he apparently never had the chance to meet boxing legend, Muhammad Ali. However, it appears that one of his podcast guests has had the honor of meeting both boxing icons, and what’s more interesting is that Rogan’s guest met both legends on the same night.

A star from one of the biggest movie franchises, MCU’s ‘The Avengers’, Josh Brolin seems to be a huge boxing fan. While having a chat on the #2232 edition of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, the 56-year-old actor recalled attending a boxing match headlined by Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, but he couldn’t remember who his opponent was. But what he did remember from the event was getting to hang out with Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali in the same green room.

“I actually went to go see Julio Cesar Chavez fight, and that’s when I met [Mike] Tyson in the green room, and I met, at the same time, Muhammad Ali,” Josh Brolin told Joe Rogan. This revelation seemingly raised the JRE host’s eyebrows as he admitted what a big deal it really was, exclaiming, “Wow… that’s a heavy moment.”

For Brolin, however, it was a moment that every die-hard boxing fan only dreams about. “As a boxing fan, that was a real moment,” the actor added. Josh Brolin didn’t really reveal if he had witnessed any of Muhammad Ali‘s fights live, but he did go down to an arena to watch Mike Tyson fight. When he recalled the things he observed during a fight, it wasn’t a very nice day for ‘Iron Mike’s opponent.

Josh Brolin shares with Joe Rogan how he witnessed Mike Tyson crush an opponent’s confidence

It’s been well over two decades since boxing fans saw Mike Tyson in his prime, so it’s understandable when Josh Brolin could not remember the name of ‘Iron MIke’s opponent when he went to see one of his fights. Tyson’s opponent was the first to walk out to the ring that evening and looked really focused on taking down the legend as he waited for him to come out. However, as soon as the now-58-year-old Tyson came out, presumably with his classic look of having a towel wrapped around his neck, Brolin noticed that his opponent’s face had a 180-degree change.

“I went to go see this fight, and Tyson was fighting, and this guy was doing this stuff before, and he had this cut; he had built himself into confidence, and Mike came out afterward… And I watched his face… and I watched that confidence bleed from his face instantaneously. He had absolutely lost the fight long before Mike had ever gotten in the ring,” Josh Brolin further told Joe Rogan.

While Mike Tyson had that menacing aura, Muhammad Ali had an electrifying one. Rest assured, both boxers have contributed significantly to not only boxing but to combat sports as a whole. Who is your favorite, Tyson or Ali? Let us know in the comments down below.
