Bachelor Nation got to know and love Jonathon Johnson on Season 21 of “The Bachelorette” while he was looking for love with Jenn Tran.
Since his time on the show, Jonathon has been keeping fans updated with his life on social media, sharing about fun experiences and his time with other Bachelor Nation stars.
Now, he’s gearing up to appear on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and he took to Instagram to share a recent travel story that was far from ideal.
In a new video, Jonathan said, “I missed my $1000 flight because of my airline’s mistake, almost got arrested by the Italian police, and stayed awake for 24 hours straight to finally catch my flight home. And honestly, it was the most beautifully sh*tty ending to an amazing trip.”
He also wrote, “I booked a flight from Mykonos to Rome and a flight from Rome to Los Angeles. There was a 2 hour layover, which was plenty of time. But before flight one had even taken off, they told me there wasn’t room for my bag overhead, so me being cool about it, I said fine I’m not gonna fight you, I’ll live. The problem was that not only were we 20 minutes late when we landed but the airline kept pushing our baggage claim back and it got so bad that they said they’ll just mail it to me, ‘Go catch your flight’ what we didn’t realize is that the other flight required you to check-in in person an hour before.”
The Bachelor Nation star went on, “I was at the counter 45 minutes before. Once that happened I was scrambling, calling both airlines trying to get on my flight. No one answered. And when they did, they said ‘Sorry we’re not liable since you booked them separately, good luck though’… so I had an internal meltdown for about five minutes, then just said screw it, got a flight for 2 days later and explored Rome.”
Jonathan shared that he eventually changed his perspective and ended up trying to have fun.
He went to a karaoke bar and went for a run… shirtless, which almost got him arrested by the Italian police.
He ended his post saying that there are worse places to be strand
