Jordan Mailata is not holding back about how high he is on Texas offensive tackle Cameron Williams.
Or the entire rookie class, for that matter.
"I love our rookies," he said in a recent meeting with the media. "This is a great rookie class, especially in that O-line room. They work really hard."
The Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle from Australia is very much taking a "may the best man win" approach to it all.
"And I told Myles (Hinton) and I told Cameron (Williams) and I told Drew (Kendall), I said, I don't care if you come for my job," he said.
"If you're better than me, you're going to be better than me. But I'm going to make it damn hard for you to reach that. I'm going to bring you along. I'm not going to kick you down, that's not how it runs here, that's not how we do it.
Mailata also noted that Williams and the rest of the pack are already "pushing him."
Williams was originally selected by the team with the No. 207 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after a successful career on the Texas line. The former Longhorn helped to was a part of bolstering a position group that was of need for the Eagles, who made him their third offensive line selection of the draft.
It will be interesting to watch how he continues to show potential during the offseason as he prepares to take an NFL football field for the first time of his career.
